The Solution

Problem

Software systems landscape change rapidly nowadays because of the growth of cloud computing, mobile devices and fast mobile networks. But what makes the system not fully utilized to improve everyday life is the limitations from the system itself which is built to focus on collaboration of geographically dispersed group only. Although this technology have great potential to be a good medium or way for people to connect with friends and do everyday thing, it will be not useful if it is just used in one circle only.

We start with:
-Brainstorming

During brainstorming, we sit in a group to generates different kind of ideas/solutions. We play around with our tools to get ideas.

At first we think of a portal which enable human to travel through dimensions. However this idea was rejected because of unrealiable concepts.

Next we came up with a new technology of atom regeneration which enable us to send objects via cloud computing. We would like to name this technology AtomGen.

Then:
-Prototyping

After having the initial idea, we further the research for the possible technology to be used and research on the feasibilities of this new technology

We did a few prototypes from different kind of sources - papers, plasticines, sticky notes, cardboards and choose the best.

After deciding the best prototype, we work on it and make it better, and finally into a concept video using stop motion technique

Next:
-Testing

After developing the concept video, we view it within the group and see if it needs further editing.

Next, we give all of the effort to the video development team to produce the final video.

At the end:
-Final product/solutions

The video editors is struggling to finish his job at 4 a.m in the morning :)

Final Notes

1) Cloud Computing
The cloud is a next big trend sounds nebulous , but its not so fuzzy when we view the value proposition from the perspective of IT professionals. Cloud computing comes into focus only when you think about what IT always need; a way to increase capacity or add capabilities on the fly without investing in new infrastructure, training new personnel or licensing new software, cloud computing encompasses any subscription-based or pay-per use service that , in real time over the internet, extends IT's existing capabilities. It is one of the start realities of public cloud computing is that it offers an alternative to internal IT. The goal of these private cloud offerings should extend beyond merely protecting internal IT. It also provides opportunity to restructure IT so it becomes more valuable to the business.

2) Atom Replicating/3D Printing
3D printing is a form of additive manufacturing technology where a three dimensional object is created by laying down successive layers of material, others uses some sort of powder that hardened when the resin is sprayed. Let's people order objects made out of plastic, glass, metal and other materials and then prints the object and mails them off. Just as like an inkjet printer sprays ink onto a page line by line, many modern 3D devices spray material-usually plastic-layer by layer onto a surface, building up a shape.

3) Fast Mobile Network
While on the research, we found some company that offers really fast mobile network capabilities. One of them is the Mobile ad-hoc networks(MANETs) developed by North Carolina State University. This technology is build to transfer the data from two point that moving fast with the highest data rate possible without compromising the fidelity of the signal.

4) Phone projector
20 million units of mobile projector phones are predicted to be sold by 2015. There is a research done by researcher at MobileVCE which is addresses the ways users interact with portable and mobile devices in order to enable new types of personalized and highly contextualised services. They proposed a mobile steerable projection system that using pico-projectors that will dynamically reconfigure the placement of the projection area compared with the screen. Two month ago, Samsung already announce one of their product that use the same concept which is named Samsung Galaxy Beam. Before that, the company already built a projector that fit the size of our palm and also uses the pico-projector.

-For the prototype, we use PICTIVE, which use low-fidelity material or simple office supplies such as pens, pencils, paper, sticky notes etc and some animation figures.. And of course we need video camera for video recording.

What We Think :

- technology which is able to scan simple non-living object and replicating it atomically at another places by utilizing the cloud computing  that can be sent from one place to the another

- enable end users to have physical interaction across different geographical area

- uses highly innovative technology which utilizes glass surfaces as interface display for a new level of interactive technology. Any devices with glass surfaces are able to project information on the surface.

Some scenarios examples implementing AtomGen Technology:

1) Around the Town - AutoGen Technology will be implemented everywhere around the town
and buildings on the windows and any other glass surfaces. User are able to use this technology everywhere. Example of a scenario will be when waiting bus at bus stand. User can download bus schedule, view news and advertisements, download songs from the glass surfaces of bus stand which has already integrated with the AtomGen Technology.

2) Teaching and Learning - AutoGen Technology bring great advances to Teaching and Learning world with it's powerful technology. One of the amazing example is it can produce multi-dimentional effects of underwater world, or even dinosaur world by projecting the living objects via the glass technology in AtomGen.

3) Health - Full Body Scan. AtomGen Technology will be used by smart devices to perform a full body scan, and keep the scan results such as heart condition, temperature, blood level, sugar level and together with the personal information into a data folder and send to his personnel doctor via cloud computing.

4) Sending an Object in Distant - AtomGen Technology enable the scanning and replicating simple non-living object to another places. This is very usable for users who want some physical interaction between the close ones. An example of using this is by scanning a birthday cake and send to your child at a distant area instantly.

5) Distant Sport and Games - You can also use AtomGen Technology to do sports with your friends and family. AtomGen Technology use motion recognition to detect the movement of objects and human and gives accurate responses. As an example of a table tennis game via AtomGen Technology, user first scan the table tennis ball into the system and the system will projects a new replica of it to be used for the game. This ball can be send to and from between users in instant time generating a visual real-time physical interaction between individuals at distant area.
